My journey to becoming a user experience designer had started when I was doing a project while pursuing a master's. The project is to find the shortest distance between two points, using crawlers. The whole class has the same problem statement. At the time of the reviews of the presentation, all of my classmates demonstrated the project and when I finally presented my project, I got a lot of positive feedback. Also, my friends are constantly checking the output screen. They loved the front-end interface I have created.

The Interface looks like a signboard on the highway. People will enter the source and destination of the places and then it will show the distance on the signboard. All of my classmates produced similar results, but it was the way that my project was presented that drew everyone’s attention. I observed all of my friends while they are involved with my project and I noticed that they were thoroughly enjoying themselves. Later on, for the remaining projects, I followed the same approach.

This was the first instance where I began to think from the perspective of the user. Perhaps, my friend’s experience paved the way for me.

Users want their needs to be fulfilled, and if we can provide them with a positive experience throughout journey, they will be ecstatic.
